Climate & best time to travel
Most attractions of the country can be visited without the slightest weather constraint on the planned itinerary. However, we recommend seasons to visit some areas
South Omo
Mid December to mid march, and July-August – is the best season to travel as it is a dry season.
November - mid December, and June – visitors shall be flexible on the itinerary since one day of rain can render the roads temporarily impossible. September and October, and from mid March to May - not recommended due to high rain
Bale Mountains
From late September to December - at the end of the rainy season highly recommended as the area is very green and clear scenic view.
From December to March - the dry season, recommended. From June to September - the rainy season, not recommended.

Semein Mountains
October - after the rainy season is recommended for the scenery and green vegetation. December to March – dry season. June - to September - not recommended as it is the rainy season.

Hotel & meals
Hotels vary from the luxurious Sheraton and Hilton in Addis to the tourist – class hotels that cater for all pockets. Best accommodations and all tourist resorts offer a choice in different part of the country. All kinds of European and varieties of Asian cousins are always available in Addis Ababa local restaurants. Ethiopian traditional dish, Injera with spicy sauce /wat/ made for vegetarians and others along with famous local honey wine \Teg\ arranged at any local restaurants or big Hotels on prior request.

Communications
Telephone, fax and internet access is available at every corner and most hotels in Addis Ababa as well as major tourist destinations including Axum, Gonder, Bahirdar, Harar, and Arbaminch.

Public Holidays
Public holidays are celebrated according to the Ethiopia (Julian) calendar September 11th Ethiopian new year September 27th The finding of true cross (Meskel) December 6th id Al Fater(ramadan) January 7th Ethiopian Christmas, January 19th Ethiopian Epiphany, February 1st id al adaha(Arafa), March 2nd Victory of Adwa, April 9th Ethiopian Good Friday, April 11th Ethiopian Easter, May 1st International Labor Day, May 5th Ethiopian patriot’s victory day, May 13th Birthday for the prophet Mohamed (Mould), May 28th down fall of the Dergue, Ethiopian public holidays may have one day difference depending on leap year.

Customs
Duty free imports are permitted for up to: - 200 cigarettes, 50 cigars or ½ 1b tobacco - 2 liters of alcoholic beverages. - Half liter or two bottles of perfume Visitors may export souvenirs, although some articles (such as animal skin and antiques) require and export permit.

Health Requirements
Prior to entry, visitors are required to be certified for yellow fever. GLORY Ethiopia advises clients to carry first aid packs specially while traveling to the Omo Valley and trekking.

Visa and Immigration
Nationals of 33 countries are allowed to receive their tourist visas on arrival in Ethiopia at the regular charge. These include Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greed, Hong Kong, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Republic Of Korea, Kuwait, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russian Federation, South Africa, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and United States. Note- visa application may also be obtained at Ethiopia’s diplomatic mission overseas.

Courier and money transfers
Visitors are allowed to import any amount of currency but this must be declared on arrival to the customs authorized banks and hotels. Visitors may change back any surplus Ethiopian birr to cash at the airport before departure. Payment can made in us $ Dollar, Euro, Travelers cheque and other forms of card payment in Big Hotels and Airlines. However, most card forms of payment are not acceptable in small restaurants and shops. Money transfers can be made through western union, money gram both have representative branches in Addis Ababa.
